Week May 25-29

Bonjour mes amis.  What an amazing weekend we had!  I spent so much time outside in the "soleil" I got a bit of a sunburn.  Ouch.
We saw the baby geese again (les oisons).  They are getting so big!  Here are a few pictures of Liam feeding them "les graines".

This week we will talk about "le cycle de vie d'une plante" (the life cycle of a plant).  I know that you worked on this last week in English, so much of it should be a review for you.
Here is little movie I made of Liam planting some seeds.  See if you point out the the following things:  les graines, du sol et de l'eau.

At the end of the video we put the pots in the "soleil" so they can grow!

Monday:
Please review the following slideshow.  It is a bit longer than the previous ones and your child may need some assistance with some of the slides.  It goes over the life cycle of a flower.

Here are our vocabulary words for this week:

Une graine

Le sol

De l’eau

Le soleil

La tige

La feuille

Les racines

La fleur

Tuesday:
Click on the following link for the worksheets for the week.  These can be done over the next two days as there are 4 of them.  If you do not have a printer, you can take a blank piece of paper and copy the life cycle of a plant and label it.

Wednesday:
You can continue to work on the worksheets today.  If you are done, you can write a journal entry using our new vocabulary words above.  i.e. "Je vois la fleur."

Thursday:
Today is tech Thursday.  I have added a deck on Boomcards all about life cycles.
Here are some cute videos about plant life cycles to watch:

Friday:
It's craft challenge day!  Today is the day to create your own flower or life cycle of a flower.  Here are some ideas to get you started:

Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to work through the week in French.  If you ever have any questions, or simply want to talk, I'm always here.  Michelle.boudreau@ocsb.ca
Have a great week!
