Week April 27-May 1

Bonjour mes amis.  I hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather on Saturday.  It was nice to see some of you going for walks in the neighbourhood.  This week I thought it would be fun to review our 5 senses and some of our Spring vocabulary words.  There are so many new things for our senses to enjoy outside.  I even saw daffodils!  Such a treat.
I have also created a BOOMcards account for all of you.  Every Thursday, I will add a new deck to our library.
It was nice to see my friends in Mrs. Scott's class this past Friday. I miss all of you very much and think of you all everyday.

Monday:

Please review the 5 senses vocabulary words:
Les 5 sens:
Je vois
J'entends
Je sens
Je touche

Je goûte

Please click on the following link.  It is a slideshow that reviews our 5 senses and Spring vocabulary words.

     Je touche mon chien.

Friday:

Please click on the following link to print a worksheet on what we hear and see in Spring.  If you do not have a printer your child can draw the pictures of what they see and hear on a blank piece of paper.

Thank you for visiting and a GROS MERCI for all you do at home.  I know it's not easy, but together we can make it happen!  If you ever have any questions or want to chat, please contact me via email or seesaw.  I'm always here for you!

Week April 14-17

Bonjour mes amis.  I hope you had a nice relaxing Easter weekend.  Mme B went for lots of walks around the pond and saw ducks, geese, a crane, seagulls, and heard the frogs singing.  It must be spring!
This week we will focus on spring weather/le temps de printemps. I have added a new slideshow about “le temps”, some new songs, and an activity sheet.
Thanks to all of you who have sent me pictures of your work at home.  Please, continue to send these to me every week.  Just once a week is good.  This week I would love to see a picture of your child’s journal or their activity sheet on weather. It can be sent on seesaw or via email: michelle.boudreau@ocsb.ca
I hope you are all well, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Mme B

Tuesday:
Please practice your new vocabulary words:

Il fait soleil
C’est nuageux
Il pleut
Il vent
Il y a un orage
Il y a un arc en ciel
Il fait chaud
Il fait froid

As well, please click the link to the slideshow on "le temps de printemps":

Wednesday:

Please review the spring weather vocabulary words and ask your child to use them in a sentence in their journal:

i.e.  Au printemps il fait soleil.
       Aujourd’hui il pleut.
       J’aime l’arc en ciel.

Please don’t forget the picture to go along with the words.

Thursday:
Today is Tech Thursday.  Here are two new songs about the weather to practice:

Please click on the following link to practice seasons in French:

You can also visit some of the other apps and websites listed on this blog for additional practice.
The following site is a very good one that we often use at school:
https://ici.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/prescolaire

Friday:
Please click on the following link to view a google doc ready to print at home about the weather.  Your child simply needs to put the appropriate word under the picture.  If you do not have a printer, that's ok.  Just have them draw a few of the pictures with the words.

Thank you so much for your continued support at home.

Week April 6-10

Congés de Pâques | Scfp301
Bonjour mes amis!  I hope you are all settling in well at home by now and getting used to doing some French work at home.  This week we are preparing our hearts for Easter (Pâques).  I know this Easter will feel a little bit different, but Jesus and God are always with us, especially now.  💗

Here is our work for the week of April 6-10.  April the 10th is Good Friday, so there is no formal work.  Maybe this day you could show Jesus you care by drawing a picture that shows how much you love Him.

Monday:

Please read and review these words with your child:

Jésus
Pâques
l’agneau
le lapin
l’oeuf
le poussin

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Mk8-CAk4rtvHKU0z9CCyo9MyDHOq64TXVThXPJKvzEE/edit?usp=sharing

Please click on this link and read the slide show "À  Pâques".

Just wanted to add here, you can download google "read and write" extension and choose the French option. The slides will read to you in French. A gros Merci to Ronan's mom for this suggestion!

Tuesday:

If you have a printer at home, you can click on the following link for a worksheet about Easter. It is a colouring sheet that encourages colour recognition in French. If you do not have access to a printer, you can click on the link and show the picture to your child. Ask them if they can draw a "lapin" and use the same colours indicated on the worksheet.

Wednesday:

If you have started a French journal at home, today is the day to use it.  If not, you could easily make one by stapling some blank paper together and making a few straight lines on each page for your child to print on.

Today we are going to use our new Easter vocabulary words in our Journals.

They can choose from the following sentence starters...
1.  À  Pâques je vois...
2. À  Pâques j'aime...
3. Voici...

They can complete the sentence with a word of their choice from our list of Easter vocabulary words above. Don't forget your picture! 😄
If you would like to share a picture of your child's work with me, you can post it on seesaw or you can email directly to me at michelle.boudreau@ocsb.ca. Merci!

Tech Thursday:

Today is the day to visit those French apps included on this blog.
Here are some links for some French and English videos about the story of Easter:

Good Friday:

As mentioned, there is no formal work today. I am, however, attaching some colouring sheets in French if you wish to work on this today:
