French Apps

Here are three French apps that I use at school with the children:

1.  Gus on the Go
2.  Fun in French
3.  Duolingo
4.  Boukili (ipad only)

They can all be found in the App Store on your smart device.

Here are some more websites to check out too:

They all have free options to get you going.  I will keep my eyes open for more good ones and let you know.
Take care!

Week March 23-27

Bonjour mes amis!  I hope that you are all well!  I am definitely missing all of you.  Here is this week's French school work to do at home.  You can do as much as you want and don't need to follow this particular order. I will update this blog regularly with new ideas, themes and resources.  I hope that we can all see one another soon.  God Bless!
Mme  B

P.S:  Don't forget to check our the YouTube page on this blog for new songs to sing at home too!

Here is a link to my YouTube channel so you can see all the songs that we practice at school too:

1.  Reading.  Here is an amazing link with French read aloud stories.  There are lots to choose from:

2. Have your child write in a French Journal at home.  They can practice writing the date.  They can talk about the weather "Il fait soleil.", what they like, "J'aime les chats.", or what they see "Je vois Maman.".  Have them draw a picture to go with their sentence.

3.  Here is a French website to practice basic themes and vocabulary.  I love this site.  We use it daily at school:

4.  Listen to your favourite music and draw.  We do this often.  It allows the students time to decompress after a busy day and talk about their feelings.  I will talk to them about what they have drawn and ask them to point our colours, shapes and feelings in French.  This is a great time for them to practice their French oral skills.

5.  Here are our new French vocabulary words to practice.  Your child can practice copying them and draw the picture to match.  These words can be practiced everyday.  It's a good way to start your French lesson.

La pluie:
Le parapluie:
Les fleurs:
La flaque:
L’oiseau:

les 5 sens

We have been watching a new educational show at snack time.  It is called "Clic et sa bande".  Here is a link:
https://ici.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/scolaire/emissions/4515/clic-bande
It focuses on the 5 senses in French, and the students have to guess what the mystery is and what sense the characters used to solve it.  They really love it.
Here are the 5 senses in French to practice at home:
Les 5 sens:
Regarder
Écouter
Sentir
Toucher

Goûter

Fun Website

Happy Valentine's Day (St. Valentin).  We have had so much fun this week practicing our French Valentine's Day songs, words and making cards.  I happened to find this great website with French read-alouds.
https://www.thefrenchexperiment.com/stories

There are some cool French stories to practice at home.  There is an option to have them read to you, or you can read it.  This would be a great way to continue your child's French learning at home!
Have a great long weekend and Happy Family Day!
